Romantic or gastronomic short breaks in France, in Lot et Garonne. Cookery course.

 

 

Fancy a few days away, a special week-end? Fancy a French experience? Combine both by indulging in one of the following. You can also contact us for your own customized holiday, where you can pick and mix a combination of activities.

 

 

Cooking

 

 

1st day: Arrival in the afternoon, we get to know each other around drinks and canapés. You settle in and relax before dinner.

2nd day and 3rd day: After breakfast, we go to a village market or visit a local producer such as duck farm, game farm, cheese maker, or wine producing chateau, where we sample local specialities and select the ingredients for our meals. We come back home to prepare and savour lunch. In the afternoon we all meet in the kitchen to cook together a typical South-West meal. At night, after our aperitif, we enjoy the fruits of our labour.

4th day: Breakfast. Check out.

 

The dishes we cook will depend on the season. It is all flexible. You can also choose your own theme (Spanish, Italian, Dinner Party...)

Wine Tasting

For 2 participants minimum.

Why not start your discovery of the region with sampling the local wines? Having worked for 8 years in the wine industry, Marlene, your host, is the ideal person to accompany you in your discovery of the beautiful South-West "crus" such as: Bergerac, Buzet, Côtes de Duras, Côtes du Marmandais, Monbazillac,  Montravel, Pécharmant, Cahors, Côtes du Frontonnais, Gaillac, Irouléguy, Jurançon, Madiran, Côtes de Saint-Mont, Côtes du Brulhois, etc....

1st day: Arrival in the afternoon. Settle into your room, where a nice glass of champagne and canapés await you. Dinner with a bottle of wine, specially selected by Marlène, your host and former wine-buyer, served in the dining room or on the terrace.  

2nd and 3rd days: After breakfast, we go to a local wine producer to visit the wine-making facilities, sample and select different "crus". Cold lunch back at the house. Free time to relax or visit the area. At night, we meet up for a tasting session before dinner, to compare the wines of the day. 

4th day: Breakfast. Departure. 

 

 

 

 

Gastronomic

 

For 2 participants minimum.

We created this break with food & wine lovers in mind. Whether you wish to discover South-West food and wine or whether you already love it and just fancy indulging in its pleasures, then this is the break for you! A special selection of the best flavours the region has to offer. Your dinners include: apéritif, starter, main course, cheese, dessert, wine, water, tea, coffee and a glass of Armagnac.

We will present you the best products available at the time: foie gras, scallops, oysters, confit, cassoulet, .... 

Sample menu: Ravioles of seared foie gras, duck in prune sauce, local cheese platter, raspberry soufflé.

 

 

1st day: Arrival in the afternoon. Settle into your room, where a nice bottle of Crémant de Bordeaux and canapés await you. Local specialities for dinner with a bottle of wine, specially picked by Marlène, your host and former wine-buyer, served in the dining room or on the terrace.  

2nd day: After your gastro breakfast, we go to a village market and a local producer* (foie gras or Buzet wine) to sample and select products. Lunch back at the house, or picnic basket. The afternoon is all yours to relax or visit the area before we meet up for our apéritif and canapés, then gastronomic dinner followed by a glass of local Armagnac. 

3rd day: Breakfast. Check out.

 

*Obviously the choice of market and producer depends on the date os your stay, and producers' availability. Our visits may vary.

 

 

 

Romantic

 

For 2 people.

In need of quality-time, looking for a place for Valentine's day or to celebrate your anniversary? 

 

1st day: Arrival in the afternoon. Settle into your room, where Champagne and canapés await you. At night,  candle-lit dinner served in the dining room (starter, main course, dessert, wine, water, tea and coffee). 

2nd day: Breakfast. You are then free to relax at the house, go to visit the area, or even borrow our bikes to enjoy the countryside. Cold lunch back at the house, or picnic basket. In the afternoon, you will find Champagne and chocolates in your room. At night, candle-lit dinner served in the dining room. 

3rd day: Breakfast. Check out.
